In order for you to work and travel in Australia, you will need to apply for a Working and Holiday Visa (subclass 417).
This visa allows you to work and travel throughout Australia for one year (once in Australia you have the option to extend the visa for a second year).
You’re eligible for this visa if you:

Are between the ages of 18-30

Are not planning on bringing a child with you

Have $5000 AUD saved (about £2600 GBP – for latest conversion rates go to XE)

Have enough money saved to purchase a return ticket

Have no outstanding debts to the Australian government

Meet the character and health requirements (no criminal history or major health problems)
– If you have a criminal history or major health problems, you can still apply and still be accepted depending on the situation
Other Details:
- Fee: $420 AUD (about £220 GBP – for latest conversion rates go to XE)
- You can study for up to 4 months
- You are allowed to work for an employer for up to six months at a time
- The United Kingdom has a reciprocal health care agreement with Australia so while in the country you will be covered by Australia’s national health scheme
