In order for you to work and travel in New Zealand, you will need to apply for a Working Holiday Scheme Visa.
This visa allows you to work and travel throughout New Zealand for one year.
You’re eligible for this visa if you:
- Have a passport that is valid for at least 3 months after your planned departure from the country

Are between the ages of 18-30

Are not planning on bringing a child with you

Have $4200 NZD saved (about $3900 CAD – for latest conversion rates go to XE)

Have a return ticket or enough money saved to purchase a return ticket

Meet the character and health requirements (no criminal history or major health problems)
– If you have a criminal history or major health problems, you can still apply and still be accepted depending on the situation
Other Details:
- Fee: $165 NZD (about $155 CAD – for latest conversion rates go to XE)
- You can study for up to 6 months
- You are responsible for all your health costs while you are in New Zealand. You will not be covered by New Zealand’s national health scheme
